INSPIRATION | create your own Pinterest closet

Frauen und Kleiderschränke, das ist eine der innigsten Beziehungen, die es gibt. Und eine der emotionalsten, wir erleben Höhen Tiefen mit unseren Kleiderschränken, sie frustrieren uns oft jeden Morgen und sind entweder so überfüllt, das nichts mehr zu finden ist, oder es ist einfach nie das Richtige dabei. Aber sie machen uns glücklich, wenn wir Zeit haben, uns mal wieder alles anzusehen, was in den Dingern hängt.

Und genau um die „Dinger“ geht es heute – Kleiderschränke. Jedes Mal, wenn ich mich auf Pinterest verirre, lande ich irgendwann bei wunderschön eingerichteten begehbaren Kleiderschränken, atemberaubend weitläufigen Schlafzimmern mit unfassbar aufgeräumten und sortierten Schränken und Kleiderstangen.

Und lange, wirklich lange Zeit habe ich mich gefragt, wie es möglich ist, dass man in solchen Räumen lebt, wie das alltagstauglich sein kann. Ist doch alles nur fürs Foto gestellt und das kann bei mir deshalb gar nie so aussehen. Doch, wir alle können einen Pinterest-tauglichen Kleiderschrank haben, dazu muss man eigentlich gar nicht viel beachten, es sind die Kleinigkeiten, die diesen aufgeräumten, cleanen Eindruck vermitteln.

Der erste und wichtigste Schritt: A u s m i s t e n. Das klingt nach genauso viel Arbeit, wie es ist, aber jeder von uns hat Leichen im Schrank, Dinge, die wir nicht mehr anziehen, weil es zu klein, zu eng, zu unförmig, verzogen, oder in der falschen Farbe ist. Deshalb ist dieser Schritt so wichtig, wir haben vor unserem Umzug ausgemistet, aber gerade in der Umbruchphase hält man an emotionalen Stücken fest – Print-Shirts und kindische Socken zum Beispiel. Und noch eine wichtige Lektion: Zweite Socken tauchen nicht mehr auf. Also den ersten einfach wegwerfen.

Der nächste Schritt: E i n h e i t l i c h e   K l e i d e r b ü g e l. Das ist quasi kein Aufwand und macht viel her – viele bunte Plastikbügel, alle eine andere Form und Größe, das passiert schnell, wenn der Inhalt scheinbar von alleine mehr wird. Ursprünglich wollte ich weiße Kleiderbügel haben, heute bin ich aber froh, dass es statt den weißen Holzbügeln dezente schwarze Drahtbügel (hier) geworden sind.

Außerdem hilfreich für den guten Pinterest-Eindruck: F a r b l i c h   s o r t i e r e n. Praktisch, weil man alles schnell zur Hand hat, will ich ein weißes Oberteil, muss ich nur dort suchen und nicht den gesamten Kleiderschrank durchwühlen. Und ich persönlich finde es einfach hübsch, wenn alles sortiert ist, wie ein natürlicher Farbverlauf. Manche Farben lassen sich oft nicht so gut einordnen, und auch Muster tanzen oft ein wenig aus der Reihe. Aber wenn es perfekt wäre, dann fühlt es sich auch nicht nach daheim sondern eher nach Möbelhaus an.

Deshalb der letzte Tipp: C o o l   b l e i b e n. Pinterest ist nicht die Realität, Pinterest ist aufgehübscht und zurechtgemacht, deshalb lieben wir es doch so.

Women and wardrobe, this is one of the most intimate relationships which exist. And one of the most emotional, we experience ups and downs with our closets, they frustrate us every morning and either are so overcrowded or the right things are not there. But they make us happy when we have the time to look at everything, what's in these things.

And today it's about exactly these things, closets. Everytime, when I go astray on Pinterest, I land at beautiful furnished walk-in wardrobes and breathtaking spacious bedrooms with unbelievably sorted clostes.

And for a long time I wondered how this is possible that one lives in such rooms, how this can be suitable for daily life. It's just put like this for the photos and it can't look like this in my room. But yes, we all can have a pinterest-suitable wardrobes, one doesn't need to consider very much, there are just some small things which convey this blithe, clean impression.

The first and biggest step: t i d y  o u t. This sounds like exactly this much work, like it really is, but everyone has skeletons in the closet, things we don't wear anymore, because they are too small, too tight, cumbersome, warped or just in the wrong color. That's why this step is so important, we tidied out before moving, but just in this period of upheaval, one holds onto emotional pieces - printed shirts, childish socks for example. And another important lesson: The second sock doesn't appear anymore. So just throw the first away.

The next step: c o h e r e n t  h a n g e r s. This isn't quite an effort and it looks so much better - too many colorful plastic hangers in all sizes and shapes happen fast, if the volume gets more by itself. Originally I wanted to have white hangers, but today I am glad, that we got this discreet black wire hangers (here) instead of the white wood hangers.

In addition helpful for the pinterest impression: c o l o r  a s s o r t i n g. Because one has everything in just a few seconds, for example if I want a white top, I just have to search there and not rummage the whole closet. And I think it is pretty, if everything is sorted, like a natural gradient. Some colors can't be put in order so well and also the patterns are a little bit from the row. But if everything were perfect, it wouldn't feel like home, but rather like an furniture store.

Therefore the last tip: s t a y  c o o l. Pinterest isn't reality, pinterest is prettied up, and fixed, therefore we love it so much.
