MEINE MEINUNG

Diese Trilogie hatte so viel Potential, der erste Teil war so neu, die Idee war brilliant, die griechische Mythologie als Eckpfeiler – und Hintergrund der Handlung, ich war so begeistert.

Aber das? Drei Viertel des Buches, okay, sagen wir zwei Drittel, geht es nur darum, welche Träume die Protagonistin hat – und in diesen wird lediglich die Geschichte um den Trojanischen Krieg wiederholt. Danke, Ms Angelini, aber das hat der gute Homer schon ganz gut hinbekommen. War nicht nötig noch mal alles zu wiederholen.

Den Rest des Buches quält die Protagonistin sich selbst mit der Frage, ob sie Lucas nicht doch lieben darf, und was darf in einem finalen Buch einer Fantasy-Trilogie natürlich nicht fehlen? Kämpfe. ‚Ich kämpfe um Lucas, ich kämpfe für meine Familie, das ist allen mein Kampf, du darfst nicht kämpfen…‘ blabla. So was.

Ehrlich, ich bin gerade so genervt von dem Buch, dabei bin ich irgendwie selbst schuld. Ich sollte einfach keine kitschige Jugendfantasy mehr lesen, bei der man ab Seite 100 weiß, wie Band 3 ausgeht. Aber ich lerne das wohl nie – oder ich glaube immer wieder, dass Autoren mit so guten Ideen mich vielleicht mal wirklich die ganze Trilogie hindurch fesseln können.

Alles in allem ein nettes Buch für 12- bis 16-Jährige, die gerne Liebesgeschichten über abnormal schöne Menschen lesen, und die Welt zerstört werden könnte. Sehr einfach und schnell zu lesen, ich hatte auch keine Probleme, in die Geschichte zurückzufinden. Die Charaktere entwickeln sich nicht großartig weiter – die Story übrigens auch nicht.

Für mich ein nicht zufrieden stellender Abschluss einer Trilogie, deren Grundidee viel Potential gehabt hätte.

Helen hardly escaped with her life, but she doesn’t have time for breath in deeply. It’s all about avoiding a war. Will the young demigoddess be able to war the prediction off.

MY OPINION

This trilogy had so much potential, the first tome was so new, the idea was brilliant, the Greek mythology as cornerstone – and background of the whole story, I was really enthusiastic.

But that? Three quarters of the book, okay, say two thirds it’s just about which dreams the protagonist has – and these only repeat the history of the Trojan War. Thanks, Ms. Angelini, but Homer already did a good job. It wasn’t necessary to repeat this whole story again. And again. Really.

The rest of Goddess the protagonist toils with the question if there really couldn’t be a way to love Lucas, and what’s the most important thing about the last tome of fantasy trilogy? Fights. ‘I fight for Lucas, I fight for my family, that’s my fight, you aren’t allowed to fight…’ blabla. Such things.

Honestly, at the moment I’m so upset about this book, although it’s my fault, somehow. I shouldn’t read youth fantasy anymore, such one, you already know how the last book will end when you’re at page 100 of the first. But this is such thing in category ‘Things I’ll never learn in life’. I always think that authors with such good ideas maybe will mesmerize me the whole trilogy.

All in all a nice book for 12 to 16 year-olds, who like reading love stories about abnormally pretty people in a world which could be destroyed. Very easy and fast to read, I also had no problems to find back to the story again. The characters don’t really evolve – as the story doesn’t.

For me a definitely not satisfying end of a trilogy, which has a basic idea with much potential. Pity.
